Dr. Shireen Grewal, ND

Dr. Shireen Grewal believes that healthcare is most effective when it blends the best of conventional and holistic medicine. After years of navigating both worlds personally and professionally, she found her home in integrative naturopathic medicine, where evidence informed care meets compassionate, individualized treatment.

Living with chronic illness and neurodivergence has given Dr. Grewal a unique perspective on the challenges many patients face. These experiences have shaped her approach to care, allowing her to support patients with empathy, curiosity, and a deep understanding that healing is rarely linear. Through a trauma informed and collaborative approach, she works alongside her patients to help them better understand their health and create realistic, sustainable treatment plans.

Dr. Grewal has a special interest in supporting patients with mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, OCD, and highly sensitive personalities. She also focuses on hormone health, including PCOS, thyroid conditions, diabetes, menstrual irregularities, and menopause, as well as stress, fatigue, insomnia, metabolism and nutrition, autoimmune and complex chronic conditions, skin health, and addiction medicine.

She is passionate about creating a welcoming, affirming space for LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, disabled, and other marginalized communities, ensuring every patient feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.

Dr. Grewal believes that while evidence based standards of care are essential, every person’s story is unique. Her goal is to provide accessible, compassionate, and personalized care that meets patients where they are and supports their long term health and well being.

Alex’s journey into acupuncture began after experiencing its benefits firsthand while receiving treatment for fatigue in both Canada and Japan, where she was living at the time. Inspired by the positive results, she pursued her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver and graduated as a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) from the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In addition to acupuncture, Alex has completed advanced training in Shiatsu, a traditional Japanese acupressure and meridian massage technique, as well as Tui Na, a traditional Chinese therapeutic massage. She also continues to study Japanese thread moxibustion, a gentle technique used to support circulation, enhance immune function, and promote the body’s natural healing response.

Alex believes that true wellness comes from restoring balance between the body and mind. Her treatments are tailored to each individual and focus on relieving areas of stagnation, improving the flow of qi (energy), reducing pain, and supporting the body’s innate ability to heal.
